“…Winner winner chicken dinner…
On the last prime, I went with half the lap left. As I have mentioned before I don’t look over my shoulder too much because it makes me swerve. So I drilled it to the line, won it, then looked back and no one had come with me. So I ride. When I have played this dream out in my mind I always figure if I could hold 25 to 26 mph that might be able to stick. I knew Ron Meskis was back there and I hoped just that one monkey wrench in their machine would be enough. I think it started with 6 laps to go.

The chase was on…I was adding about 2 seconds every lap until I got up to 15 seconds with two laps to go. This is what Tuesday Nights are all about…I have always sworn if I ever won a crit, I wouldn’t raise my arms.Maybe on the second but the first one I just wanted to get it in the books. Well,I raised them, it was almost out of body.
The best part, all three of my boys and Jenn were there at the finish line.”

“…add in cat 4/5 bike handling and decision making abilities for even more fun. Stayed in the back after being put into the gutter a few times. After we dropped half the starters the pace got smooth and comfortable. With 7 to go i decided to work my way up. I was very nervous as this was my first crit in over 5 years (the last one i crashed and dislocated my shoulder). As luck would have it as soon as made my move on the super wide right hander (2nd to last corner) there was a large crash in the front of the pack. I was in about 6th place at that time and had to go onto the sidewalk to avoid the crash. I spent 4 laps TT’ing around the course then was kindly asked to end my race. I am happy with the results everything considered.”
